The Zambezi
Inspired by the crocodiles in Africa’s fourth-longest river, our Zambezi bracelet and bangle share an armour-like look. In the bracelet, specially carved white agate ‘teeth’ snap against Ashoka cut diamonds. In the bangle, an oval shaped green tsavorite – with a flash of black enamel and mother-of-pearl inlaid detail – conjures a menacing eye. These pieces really make a strong statement. Think of them as our ‘crocodile rocks’.

The Zambezi
The Zambezi Bangle
The intimidating crocodile's eye comes to life in a bangle set with tsavorites, oval and brilliant cut diamonds set in yellow gold with black enamel and mother of pearl details

“There are two designs representing the crocodile. One of them represents this formidable predator, just showing its tail and its eye. The eye appears to just glide above the waterline, and then the tail wraps around above it. The other piece is a bracelet and has a very different feel to it. The crocodile is almost hidden amongst it, a reminder that very often, they are 90% below the waterline. The bracelet is inspired by a crocodile’s jaws with intercepting teeth.”

Around Africa in 10 Days
In October 2024, Boodles President Nicholas Wainwright and his niece Honour set off on an unforgettable adventure within Africa, a journey that would go on to inspire our latest High Jewellery collection. From boarding the Blue Train in South Africa to soaring over the Maasai Mara in a hot air balloon, they travelled in search of extraordinary gemstones, design inspiration and a little Boodles magic. Along the way, they met craftspeople, visited communities that are supported by our charity partner Just a Drop, and immersed themselves in the colours, culture and wildlife of this remarkable continent. Join us as we retrace their footsteps and discover the stories behind the jewels.
