Sustainability
At Boodles, we are committed to responsible business practices and to embedding
them across every stage of our operations. Responsible development is not merely
an option for us; it is at the heart of everything we do. In fact, the very nature of our
business means that we are building for future generations, and we believe this is
one of the many reasons we have continued to thrive since 1798.
It was almost 50 years ago that Anthony Wainwright, Boodles Chairman at the time,
and his wife Jean Wainwright were invited by The World Diamond Council to visit the
Cullinan Mine to see for themselves the positive impacts that responsible mining can
have on surrounding communities, providing livelihoods for thousands of workers
and their families. All these years later, we remain dedicated to supporting mining communities, ensuring good business practices, and sharing our progress as we continue to
improve.
Responsible Practices
Our Mission
Our sustainability strategy is simple and intentional. We believe in the highest ethical standards, conscious decision-making, constant learning, continuous improvement, and open dialogue across our value chain. Our aim is not to make claims, but to take responsibility. We are on a journey alongside the wider industry, our supply chain, and our customers to ensure transparency in our operations and to help safeguard resources for future generations.
As a jewellery brand, we recognise that the materials we use carry both environmental and social responsibility. We are committed to responsible sourcing of precious metals and gemstones, ethical and accountable manufacturing practices, sustainable packaging, and designing jewellery pieces that are made to last. For generations to come, circularity is not an optional business add-on for us. It is embedded in how we design, produce, care for, and renew our jewellery.
Our principal motive is to create positive impact across our entire value chain through the three pillars: Product, Planet, and People. We are committed to setting realistic and necessary targets across these pillars, and to monitoring and transparently reporting our progress across all our ESG commitments.

Boodles Sustainability Report
A Family Journey
“As a sixth-generation family business, the decisions we make today are of the utmost importance for the future of the Boodles brand and will be judged by generations to come. We recognise the importance of our actions on the environment and 2018 marked a turning point for Boodles in our approach to sustainability. Charity has always been at our core, but our eyes were opened to the possibility of taking further responsibility for our actions and understanding the impact of our work on the world in which we live. Today, we understand the real opportunity we have to make a difference through our commitment to sustainable business practices. We are making strides in the right direction and were thrilled to be awarded Walpole’s 'British Luxury Brand of the Year' award in 2023, in recognition of the work we are doing in this area. It has been refreshing to see how many of our staff are passionate about this as well. It has been a fascinating journey so far, and clearly one that has only just begun.”.

Diavik Mine
Boodles is proud of its partnership with the Diavik Mine, one of the world’s foremost sources of ethical, high-quality diamonds and one of the most dramatic mine locations in the world. This collaboration is part of Boodles’ Peace of Mined initiative, enabling us to trace a specific diamond’s’ journeys from the moment they are mined to their transformation into a Boodles masterpiece. Diavik embodies a commitment to providing the world’s finest diamonds, ensuring that every diamond’s beauty is matched by its integrity. Following the mine’s closure in March 2026, Diavik diamonds are now finite in number. Boodles is fortunate to hold a selection of these remarkable stones, which feature in a number of our jewellery creations.
