Centred around seven cushion-cut Colombian emeralds totalling 46.20 carats, surrounded by 17.38 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds and set in platinum, the Greenfire Necklace formed the centrepiece of the four piece Greenfire high jewellery collection. Created using exceptional untreated emeralds from the renowned Muzo mine, the suite is defined by extraordinary colour, remarkable rarity and a sense of natural enchantment.
The Million Pound Necklace
The creation of the Greenfire Necklace was documented in Channel 4's ‘The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles’, offering a rare insight into the world of Boodles. The programme followed the journey from sourcing loose emeralds and developing the design through to craftsmanship, completion and launch, alongside the people behind the collection.
The Design
Designed by Director of Design, Rebecca Hawkins, Greenfire was inspired by the way sunlight filters
through woodland, creating shifting patterns of light and shadow. Flowing, vine-like settings and
scattered brilliant-cut diamonds evoke this movement, while flame-like motifs cradle the emeralds,
balancing the richness of the stones with a light, organic aesthetic.
Special Stones
At the heart of the collection are seven untreated cushion-cut Colombian emeralds from the Muzo
mine, among the world's most celebrated sources of emeralds. Totalling 46.20 carats, they are
paired with 17.38 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds, whose brilliance enhances the emeralds'
vivid green and exceptional depth of colour.
Craftsmanship
Creating Greenfire demanded remarkable craftsmanship. Boodles designers and craftspeople worked closely throughout the process to ensure every curve, setting and proportion reflected the original vision. The intricate platinum framework was engineered to best showcase the emeralds, while allowing light to pass freely through the stones, enhancing their natural brilliance.
Greenfire remains one of Boodles' most celebrated high jewellery creations. Combining exceptionally rare Colombian emeralds with contemporary British design, the collection reflects the brand’s reputation for sourcing remarkable gemstones and transforming them into breathtaking pieces of jewellery.
On The Big Screen
In 2021, the Greenfire necklace was worn by Dame Helen Mirren in her role as Queenie in Fast & Furious 9, showcasing one of Boodles most remarkable creations to audiences all around the world.
