The Presence Chamber ceiling in Kensington Palace was designed by William Kent, one of the most successful and fashionable designers of the 18th century. This suite evokes the details of the ceiling through red enamel, rubies, sapphires, and tourmalines, with detailing that mirrors the figures and motifs within the painting.
