The Boodles Archive brings together a selection of the family-owned jeweller’s most significant high jewellery collections, offering a chance to look back at the people, places and stories that have shaped Boodles’ history. From family journeys and long-standing partnerships to exceptional gemstones and ambitious creative projects, each collection reflects a different chapter in the company’s story.
A Family Journey, Africa
This collection celebrates a milestone in Boodles’ history: a family journey that opened up a new world. In 1962, Anthony Wainwright went on a remarkable adventure, meeting dealers in fine diamonds and gemstones on a tour around the world in 16 days. The friendships he made transformed Boodles, enabling us to offer jewels of a quality that was nearly impossible to find anywhere else. Six decades on, our Chairman, Nicholas Wainwright, honoured his father’s initiative with a journey of his own around the continent of Africa.
Peace Of Mined
Coinciding with The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Peace of Mined represents a story of provenance. Boodles was delighted to have been a partner of the Jubilee Pageant, celebrating Queen’s Elizabeth’s 70 year reign. The collection featured exceptional diamonds selected from the Cullinan Mine, fully traceable from the moment they are mined to when they arrive in a Boodles showroom.
Wonderland
Launched in 2008, Wonderland was Boodles’ first high jewellery collection and marked an important moment in the company’s design history. Inspired by the imaginary and the living world, the collection created a world of fables, fairy tales, flora and fauna, with each piece telling its own story. Wonderland has since returned in different forms, giving Boodles’ designers the freedom to explore the more imaginative side of jewellery design.
Greenfire
The launch of Boodles’ Greenfire necklace in 2014 marked a turning point in the company’s history. The necklace was the subject of the television documentary ‘The Million Pound Necklace’ and was later worn by Dame Helen Mirren in the 2021 film ‘Fast & Furious 9’. The emeralds were sourced from the Muzo mines in Colombia, while the design was inspired by the organic shapes of entwined foliage.
Secret Garden
The Secret Garden archive collection was inspired by, and created in partnership with, Marc Munden’s 2020 film adaptation of one of Britain’s most beloved stories, The Secret Garden. Drawing on Mary Lennox’s journey and her discovery of a hidden garden, the 40-piece collection captured the wonder, beauty and mystery at the heart of the tale.
The Poetry of Landscape
The Poetry of Landscape collection launched in 2017 and was inspired by the natural landscape and the changing of the seasons that so defines us as a nation. Boodles designers captured the Britishness of our countryside in a glorious celebration of a first-hand view of landscapes, combined with inspiration taken from some of our greatest artists. The resulting pieces are a superb and delicate balance of direct representation and expressive abstract interpretation.
Pas de Deux
In celebration of the partnership between Boodles and The Royal Ballet, Boodles created ‘Pas de Deux: Inspired by The Royal Ballet’ in 2015: a dynamic collection of jewellery that translated the very essence of dance into intricate diamond and platinum designs.
