The Boodles 6 Star Standards
Discover MoreOur Story
Founded in Liverpool in 1798, Boodles is a family company through and through. We’ve always done things differently, and for over two hundred and twenty five years, six generations of our family have guided the business with a shared sense of purpose, pride and individuality. Our story is as much about people and passion as it is about fine jewellery. The values that have shaped us from the beginning remain at the heart of our team and continue to guide everything we do.
A Family Business
While we’ve grown significantly, our ideals have remained unchanged since 1798. In an industry where global expansion often dilutes local identity, Boodles proudly remains wholly family-owned. Our six directors are the only shareholders, each deeply involved in the day-to-day running of the business, and each have their area of expertise. Entrepreneurial and people-focused, we are proud of our independence and our heritage and this is reflected in how we run our business.
Our Values
Throughout our long history, values of integrity, drive, passion and commitment have been central to everything we do. We work with a trusted network of suppliers who share these principles. Boodles is known for beautifully designed, meticulously crafted jewellery – but it is our unparalleled service, traditional charm and distinctive sense of fun that set us apart, inspiring our customers to return time and again.
Events and Partnerships
Each year, we are involved in around 350 events across the UK and internationally – from boutique tennis tournaments and horse racing to black-tie galas and intimate in-store receptions. These occasions amplify our profile internationally, but more importantly, they offer our clients memorable experiences with Boodles at the heart. These events are an opportunity to connect, to entertain, and to spend precious time with our customers.
Benefits and Culture
Boodles is proud to know each of its 130 employees individually– many of whom stay with us for decades. Our comprehensive benefits package includes private health insurance with mental health support, competitive salaries, generous annual leave, and special days off for birthdays and weddings. We provide financial security through our pension scheme, death-in-service provisions, and company-wide bonus programmes, plus enhanced family support including workplace nursery benefits and improved maternity cover. Combined with ongoing training throughout your career, we create a close-knit environment where people genuinely love what they do and thrive as part of the Boodles family.
Sustainability
As a sixth-generation family company, we are aware that the decisions we make today matter deeply – not just for the present, but for future generations to come. We recognise our environmental responsibilities and are committed to making a positive impact. From ensuring the ethical sourcing and traceability of many of our diamonds, gemstones and precious metals, to supporting mining communities, reducing our carbon footprint and recycling, sustainability is a key focus across every area of our business. We are proud to use Single Mine Origin gold in our gold jewellery, a traceable source of gold that supports local communities and is ethically sourced.
Volunteering & Charitable Trusts
We believe in making a difference. At Boodles, every department benefits from our charitable giving scheme, which supports donations and fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Our team members – across our 10 showrooms and two head offices – regularly take part in creative and meaningful ways to support causes close to their hearts. Giving back is something we actively encourage and support.
We have been different from the very beginning. No other fine jewellery brand hails from Liverpool, or has been steered by six generations of the same family for over two hundred years.
Our Roles & Departments
Each showroom team typically includes a Manager, Assistant Manager, Sales and Administration staff. Departments across the business include Design, Marketing, PR, Branding, Digital, Merchandising, Display, Production, Events, Workshop, Admin, Accounts, HR, IT and General Support.
In 1921, Boodles House opened on the corner of Lord Street and North John Street in Liverpool – a desirable location then, and still our Head Office today. Since then, we have grown to ten showrooms across London, the UK and Ireland, welcoming our customers with the same six-star Boodles experience that has always set us apart.
