The Secret Garden collection was created in partnership with Marc Munden's 2020 film adaptation of one of Britain's most loved stories. Inspired by Mary Lennox's journey and her discovery of a hidden garden, the 40-piece collection captures the wonder, beauty and mystery at the heart of the tale. Drawing on both the original novel and key moments from the film, Boodles' designers looked to nature, garden architecture, costume design and interior details to create a distinctly British collection filled with imagination.

The Story of The Secret Garden
Orphaned in India, Mary Lennox is sent to live with her uncle in Yorkshire, where she discovers a lonely, hidden world within his vast house. There, she uncovers a secret garden - an overgrown, forgotten place that ultimately transforms her life.
The Inspiration
The collection draws on the visual richness of Marc Munden's film adaptation, translating its colour, light and sense of wonder into jewellery. From flourishing gardens and hidden pathways to intricate interiors and costume details, each design reflects the magic and optimism at the heart of the story.
Special Stones
The collection showcases a rich palette of gemstones, combining luminous white diamonds with vibrant coloured stones including South Sea pearls, pink tourmalines, rare pink opal, yellow diamonds, tsavorites and sapphires. Among the highlights are the Verdure Rings, inspired by the moment Mary's bedroom wallpaper comes to life, with sweeping arrangements of yellow and white diamonds surrounding a vivid pink tourmaline.
Behind The Design
Each piece references a memorable element of the story, from delicate snowdrops symbolising new beginnings to vibrant poppies, blooming walled gardens and the key that unlocks the hidden garden. Together, these motifs celebrate themes of discovery, hope and renewal.

Created in 2020, The Secret Garden collection marked one of Boodles' most imaginative creative collaborations, bringing together British storytelling, cinema and fine jewellery. Inspired by a much- loved literary classic and reimagined through contemporary design, it reflects Boodles' longstanding appreciation for British culture and craftsmanship, while demonstrating the House's ability to translate stories into exceptional jewels.

Chelsea Flower Show
The Secret Garden continued to inspire Boodles beyond the collection itself, becoming the creative starting point for the House's Chelsea Flower Show garden in 2021. The design offered a contemporary interpretation of the journey to an enchanted, life-changing sanctuary, echoing the themes of discovery, transformation and natural beauty found throughout the collection.
Supporting NSPCC
As part of The Secret Garden collaboration, Boodles was proud to support the
NSPCC through the creation of a specially designed bracelet. Inspired by the story’s
themes of wellbeing and renewal, Mary’s Bracelet featured brilliant-cut diamonds
set in yellow, white or rose gold. In keeping with the spirit of the partnership, every
penny from each bracelet sold was donated to the NSPCC, helping to support the
vital work they do to protect and care for children.
