On Monday 11th September 2017, Boodles came together for an evening of celebration at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Home to the Boodles Raindance Ring, the V&A Museum provided a stunning setting for the launch of the latest addition to the Raindance collection, a diamond-encrusted ladies watch.
The Raindance Watch is a beautiful timepiece featuring an ornate dial in a choice of shimmering blue aventurine or luminous mother-of-pearl. The two models mirror the different characteristics of water in nature: the spectacular and the elegant. Diamond raindrops glide down the storm-blue aventurine dial evoking dramatic midnight rainfall. The glossy eggshell hue of the mother-of-pearl dial is reminiscent of marble, with a sprinkling of diamonds representing sunlit golden raindrops trickling its surface in graceful fluidity.
Guests of the launch enjoyed a feast of canapés and champagne provided by family-run Rocket Food. The beautiful backdrop of the V&A’s Dome was adorned with extraordinary flower arrangements by Pinstripes & Peonies and illuminations produced by Focus Lighting. Boodles curated a ‘timeline’ display documenting the 17 year history of the Raindance collection since its inception in 2000. Guests could wander the length of the timeline, discovering the context and inspirations behind each addition until they reached The Raindance Watch. The evening culminated with a spectacular performance by the LED-lit ballerinas, the Fireflies, accompanied by musicians playing illuminated violins; a bespoke creation inspired by Boodles Raindance.
